Corporate resources scrutiny committee this morning in Gateshead and I was pleased to see my colleague Cllr Ron Beadle was back in the Civic Centre for the meeting. Ron had been diagnosed in May with bowel cancer and had successfully undergone a major operation. He is having chemotherapy but by all accounts he is making a strong recovery and all traces of the cancer have gone. As usual, Ron made a full contribution to the meeting!
